Senior athletes, Gabby Aragon and Jensen Leivo, took time out of their busy schedules to tell us all about how they have been focusing on a successful season this year for the Cavegirl soccer team. Jensen (outside back) and Gabby (attacking mid) are both senior captains this year and have no problem keeping it loose at practice and in the locker room, but know when to get tough and stay on track. They also tell us all about their other sports, hobbies, and future!

When it comes to doing it all, no one does it quite like Trey Castenada. In just his 2nd year of high school football, (first since his freshman year) he has become the team’s very own utility man. He has taken on the role of safety, receiver, running back, kick returner, and punter! This week the Cavemen look to face off against the undefeated Centennial Hawks in Las Cruces. Mark Rudi, sports reporter for the Las Cruces Sun News, was kind enough to join us for a quick rundown and prediction for Friday’s game. Mark heavily follows the NM State basketball team as well, so we get an update on their preseason mesh and what to expect in this year’s season.

Julian Griffith saw great success as a first-time actor as Jefferson Albert Tibbs on the movie Hardball. You know, the baseball movie that you cried for? He tells us all about how he landed that role, what it was like to work with Keanu Reeves and the friendships he made from the movie. After big success from the movie he chose to pursue baseball in real life! He played college baseball and went on to sign a few pro contracts. This is a podcast you won’t want to miss!

Detective and SWAT Operator, Patrick Bryant, is a good friend of the show. As a Carlsbad native, Pat has played sports his whole life. Everything from football to swim, he has tried them all and used them as mental preparation for his profession. As a detective, he decided to transform his body and compete in a body building competition. Hear all about his experiences, video game sponsorships, and much more!

Baseball stud outfielder, David Martinelli, was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2016 in the 6th round. He was well-known for his incredible bat and contegious positivity in the dugout. He hopped on the podcast to talk about his beginnings, baseball at Dallas Baptist, and what it was like to get drafted by the Phillies! David has since moved on from baseball and is now pursuing a career in business.

Taylor Miterko, left tackle #75 for the Carlsbad Cavemen, has turned heads in his high school career. In fact, he was recruited by 24 Division I schools! Being highly recruited was a large product of hard work and dedication to football. Taylor officially chose Oklahoma State University to become home for his college football career. Shorthorn Little League from Carlsbad, NM made a deep run in the Southwest Regionals to make their hometown proud. We are happy to have had the chance to speak with Nate Hernandez and Tristin Thomas about their once in a lifetime experience!
